Welcome to the National Optometric Student Association's new website which has been launched to provide you with information regarding NOSA and the NOA. This site will also provide you with links relevant to optometry students and optometry as a profession.
The National Optometric Student Association (NOSA) is the student extension of the National Optometric Association (NOA) and is a service organization dedicated to providing the delivery of effective and adequate eyecare to the minority and underserved communities. In addition NOSA creatively markets the field of optometry in an effort to increase recruitment and retention of underrepresented minorities into the profession.
There are several NOSA chapters across the country and we are continuing to grow tremendously. Each chapter works toward increasing awareness about the field of optometry. A few examples of ways in which we participate in various activities include our ODs of Tomorrow initiative. Though this initiative, chapters speak to students at various levels in their academic education about the importance of minorities in Optometry.
NOSA chapters also participate in vision screenings and community service activities throughout various cities to teach these communities about the importance of their vision care. Each year the NOA also provides the NOSA members with scholarships at our annual convention which is held in various locations across the US, US territories and Canada.
We hope you find this site informative!
Thank you for visiting and enjoy!
